In crisis, stay disciplined!

I have been thinking a lot of which could  be the most important skill I need to develop during this, or any crisis, and honestly, I am absolutely convinced that in all critical situations staying disciplined is the most healthy tool I should reinforce.

Self discipline is the secret

I also believe that the only type of discipline is self-discipline. Self-discipline is the ability to control one’s behavior and overcome one’s weaknesses in order to pursue something considered right for me. Self discipline allows me, despite all the difficulties and temptations, to pursue my goal.

One of the main characteristics of self-discipline is the ability to forget instant and immediate gratification and pleasure, in favor of some greater gain or more satisfying results, even if this requires effort and time. I definitely have learned that with food… Self-discipline gives you the power to stick to your decisions and follow them through, without changing your mind. 

Gandhi always preached about self-discipline as one of the most important characteristics of a human being, I definitely say that I agree. With self-discipline most anything is possible!

Move to survivel mode

Today it seems like the world is focused on survival mode. And I am convinced that each one of us must understand our own responsibility, each one of us needs to act in a disciplined way to take care of themselves and, as a result, of others. 

With worldwide lockdowns forcing the closure of industries and factories, the pollution level has reduced to a great extent. This reflects human behavior mechanism can bring sustainable effects on the earth.

Self discipline is a  very useful and needed skill in everyone’s life, and though most people acknowledge its importance, there’s few  who do anything to develop and strengthen it. In fact, it is one of the most important pillars of real and stable success. This ability can be strengthened and developed like any other skill, through training. Yes, you can develop self discipline with special exercises, which you can practice at any time and place.

Spending time watching TV, having treats without a worry seemed like a dream come true, but as the days of lockdown increase in the wake of rising COVID 19 CASES it is slowly turning into a nightmare.

  1. Set up a routine
  2. Designate an exclusive space to work
  3. Take care of your health, focus on what you eat and make it healthy
  4. Keep in “touch” with others and, most important, with your own self

Seek professional help

If you feel it is too much for you and you can’t do in on your own, self discipline also means to know when you need to ask for professional help.
