The fears and worries related to COVID are still at the top of the concerns of all of us. The effectivity over our immune system of the different types of vaccines, is a mayor doubt, then comes the second question, when will I get my vaccine. Of course, these are questions I do not know how to answer but, what I can say is that is has been more than proven that stress hurts our immune system leaving us much more vulnerable to any disease. So what we can do is try to reinforce our immune system.
But exactly how chronic psychological stress affects our body, is not yet fully understood. Our immune system, to call it easy, is a collection of cells that travel through our blood stream. They move in and out of tissues and organs, defending our organism against foreign bodies such as, bacteria and viruses. When we are threatened, they “get started”, to defend us. When the danger persists, the effort the inmune system is having to maintain us safe generates stress and ,stress hurts it, causing that, this ability our body has to fight ,is reduced,”hurt”, leaving us more vulnerable and susceptible to infections. To try to kep it short .This may increase our risk for infection with SARS-CoV-2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
No news that the COVID 19 pandemic is causing a lot of stress.,and stress hurts our immune system leaving us much more vulnerable to any disease. So what we can do is try to reinforce our immune system.So, what we can do ,and ,must do ,is try to reinforce our inmune system . We need to work on how we handle the stress COVID is causing on each one of us. Although it is important to be prepared, alert and careful during this pandemic, we need to try to control our fears and avoid over worrying. Fears will help us protect ourselves, make us folow the indications ,wear masks , keep social distance ,and so on, but panic just causes more harm. Panic does not allow us to think properly.
Psychological stress is not pathogenic per se, but the damage it causes to the bodys cells , when sostained in time,triggers an inmune response that makes us more susceptible to a foreigh pathogen ,Chronic over-worrying about COVID-19 can intensify our vulnerability to viruses by creating an imbalance in our immune function.
As the lockdown is upon us, and COVID is in the air, it is vital to support and maintain a healthy immune system. Of cousre the vacines will help but we need to do our part.

Make sure you maintain a healthy and balanced diet This means getting a varied source of protein, fat and carbohydrates that will include all of the amino acids, vitamins and minerals (i.e. copper, folate, iron, selenium, zinc, vitamin a, b6, b12, C and D) – these vitamins and minerals will help support and reinforce your immune system Take in acount that alcohol disrupts immune pathways in complex and seemingly paradoxical ways. These disruptions can impair the body’s ability to defend against infection
The immune system functions best when it gets enough sleep. Seven or more hours of sleep is recommended for optimal health.” (Watson, 2017).
Exercise helps a lot to reinforce our immune system Exercising at home doesn’t need to be a pain! You don’t have to have loads of equipment and simply using your body weight works great. If you find yourself looking for that specific bit of equipment or want to make your exercise harder, look around the house and get creative.
LOWER STRESS LEVELS
Although you should practice lowering your stress levels year-round practicing amid this virus outbreak is particularly important as stress directly impacts your immune system. Find ways to lower stress levels by meditating, and or controlled breathing techniques.Find something you like .If you can t do it by yourself,seek professional help.
